Apollo Robbins:The Art of Misdirection

I have watched this a couple of months ago and thought it was a very interesting way of thinking.  Apollo’s philosophy on the mind is to create a distraction in order to do something else right in front  of a person and not even realize it.  The topic of this presentation is that if you could control one's attention how would you use that power.  His visual effects were simply amazing and eye popping.  He first used a diagram of what he thought of a person attention.  He explained it as a security system and how he would distract it.  A simple recollection of memories would take a person’s security system and have it turn its back so there is a slight distraction.  There after he brought up a guest and physically performed his example on a person.  He took the man’s watch, money, food, and a few personal items from his pockets.  It was a very effective presentation and caught my attention from the beginning.  Humor was a large part of Apollo’s presentation and he used it very well.  The pacing was a little fast but for what he was explaining, he went very accordingly.  There was a path through his presentation and even got us thinking from the beginning to the end.  I was very engaged and and inspired.  He got me thinking of how we look at only things we want to see but there are many other things right in front of us that we don’t notice.  I have been emphatic about this presentation ever since i saw it.  There are many points that he goes through and make you think about.  Our attention span nowadays are so short we can even remember things that we have just looked at.  I feel that if we were more attentive, there would be more we can open up to.  If we could control someones attention, how would we use that power.
